Emergency

Assistance

  • Doc Ready – Doc Ready is a digital tool that helps young people to prepare and make the most out of mental health related GP visits. It helps young people to know what to expect during a GP consultation, plan what to say and record the outcomes of their appointments.
  • Hub of Hope – The Hub of Hope is the UK’s leading mental health support database. It is provided by national mental health charity, Chasing the Stigma, and brings local, national, peer, community, charity, private and NHS mental health support and services together in one place for the first time.
  • The Court Case: Challenging unhelpful thoughts by putting your thoughts on trial – When dealing with distressing thoughts, it is helpful to look for the facts or evidence for and against the thought.  What is fact and what is opinion?
  • Find an NHS psychological therapies service (IAPT) –  If you live in England and are aged 18 or over, you can access NHS psychological therapies (IAPT) services. A GP can refer you, or you can refer yourself directly without a referral. IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) services offer: talking therapies, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), counselling, other therapies, and guided self-help, and help for common mental health problems, like anxiety and depression.

Educational

  • Introduction to Adverse Childhood Experiences
  • ELSA Network – An educational psychology led intervention for promoting the emotional wellbeing of children and young people.
  • Preventing suicide in England – Fifth progress report of the cross government outcomes strategy to save lives.
  • Kim Noble: The woman with 100 personalities – Kim, 50, has dissociative identity disorder (DID). She is, in effect, scores of different people – the exact number is uncertain – wrapped up in one body. These personalities are all quite distinct, with their own names and ages and quirks of temperament. Some are children. Some are male.
  • What is wellbeing – Wellbeing is about people and creating the conditions for us all to thrive.  It’s quality of life and prosperity, positive physical and mental health, sustainable thriving communities.
  • Growth after trauma – As Kay Wilson struggled to make her way through a Jerusalem forest after being repeatedly stabbed by a Palestinian terrorist, she distracted herself from her agony by playing the song “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” in her mind, composing a new piano arrangement while she fought for breath and forced herself to put one bare foot in front of the other.
  • MHFA England – We want a society where everyone can thrive. We believe in zero stigma surrounding mental health. We want mental health to be openly discussed and supported.

Corporate

  • What are the Management Standards? – HSE’s Management Standards represent a set of conditions that, if present: demonstrate good practice through a step-by-step risk assessment approach, allow assessment of the current situation using pre-existing data, surveys and other techniques, promote active discussion and working in partnership with employees and their representatives, to help decide on practical improvements that can be made, help simplify risk assessment for work-related stress.
